Akira is a high school transfer student with a deteriorating relationship with his father. When he arrives at his new school, he stumbles onto a classmate being bullied. His intervention triggers two new friendships — one with the victim Scott and the other with Elizabeth — the classmate who aids him after he is knocked out. Scott has a worse problem than the bullies — he has not come out at home yet. But Elizabeth may have an even bigger problem: she is a social pariah because she keeps acting as though someone or something is after her. Meanwhile, Akira’s home front situation is going from bad to worse.

Adamstown

The movie Adamstown is based on the graphic novel by Verena Braun. In a town out in „the West“ (shot in the flatlands of Northern Germany), animals and humans a struggling and fighting about power and influence. Behind the scenes on the other hand, people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, refugees, people with and without disabilities, old and young were working together to crush borders and show respect. Intercultural work, inclusiveness and human rights where the driven forces for the educational project around the movie and our message we wanted to deliver with the movie … embedded in a fantastic story with a divers (and fantastic) cast. The Hollywood Reporter: „If Wes Anderson. adapted a German Comic book filled with talking animals and then cast amateur actors – many of them recent refugees – to play the leading role, the result might. look something like Patrick Merz and Henning Wötzel-Herber's Adamstown. Oh, and it's a musical, too. “

At that time, Rain was just a naive small-town girl with honorable dreams for a better life by earning money in the city to support her family. Seeking to learn what really happened to Rain and why slanderous falsehoods about her were spread, Guo tracks down three of the people closest to her during that time; an old uncle (Sanshu), who helped her get settled and find work, a childhood best friend (Lily), her roommate and co-worker, and her first love (Lu), a musician and student. As the truths about Rain are revealed, Guo strives to get those who started the rumours to take back their accusations. When she comes to know of Mr. Zhou's plan of the "fake marriage", she offers to help him out but asks for 100,000 RMB in advance. Having learned about her father-in-law's intention of marrying Mrs. Dong, Huang Lili, Zhou Ping's wife, has stolen his household register. As a result, Mr. Zhou, when he is about to give the bankbook with a deposit of 100,000 to Yun, finds that his household register is gone in which the bankbook is tucked.
